The home owners were an amalgamation of modern global living and traditional Indian values and wanted the house to reflect the same energy. We used teak and oak wood along with other elements like metal, glass, fabric to strike a perfect balance and created this eclectic feel.
The focal point was "Pattachitra" which is a traditional cloth-based art form practiced in Odhisa and West Bengal, in the eastern part of India. This is a hand-painted Tree of Life on silk fabric which is considered auspicious and was at the center of the house. The entire concept was a mix of modern functional spaces thoughtfully combined with traditional elements like straight line sofa embellished by throw cushions in vibrant indian color, carved wooden wall art and other similar detailing.
